Released in Europe, Canada, and the United States on January 16, World of Warcraft expansion pack The Burning Crusade has topped the 3.5 million sales mark. That’s one copy for every man, woman, and child in Casablanca and is half a million more than the population of Armenia. Over 2.4 million of those sales took place on release day alone. Nearly 8.5 million people in the world (and it’s safe to assume the galaxy) are subscribed to the MMORPG, and it shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
Sony announced that it will now cost gamers $14.99 to play Planetside starting April 2nd, 2007. Sony claims they need to raise the price that little bit to continue support on a four year old game that no as many people are playing these days.
I wouldn’t have a problem, if you ask me I’ll play $2 more a month to play a game that I like.  Would you rather now have the game to play or pay an extra $2 a month? Let us know your opinions!
Warner Chappell Music, the publishing division of Warner Music Group, has reached an agreement to claim, administer, and license music compositions owned and controlled by Microsoft. The catalog includes several thousand compositions; notably those featured in the Halo, Age of Empires, Fable, and Kameo series. Music composed for future Microsoft published games is also included in the deal.
Warner Chappell will be responsible for creating new opportunities to showcase Microsoft’s music worldwide. “By partnering with Warner Chappell, we can continue to extend the value and experiences for our music and also inspire and give further recognition to the composers who are dedicated to working on video games,” said Microsoft senior director Ed Ventura.

IGN.Com sat down with Pandemic senior producer Jonathan Zamkoff and asked him a ton of questions about the upcoming game Mercenaries 2. He says even though the game will come out on XBOX360, PC, and PS2, only the PS2 will really look different since it will be using the Mercenaries 1 engine for gameplay. Zamkoff does state that the overall gameplay will still be the same.
One new thing with the game will be co-op internet play on all versions of the game except for the PS2.   Mercenaries 2 is expected to hit store shelves in Fall of 2007. We will have to wait and see how the development of the game goes and hopefully there won’t be any problems that would push the release date back.
Check out our new partner GameFly, where you can rent games and keep them for as long as you want! Just pay a low monthly fee like $8.99 or take their free trial today!
