Mario Kart Wii Review

Wow, that is the first thing I can say after playing Mario Kart Wii for a couple of hours last night. First off, the game comes with a steering wheel that you put the Wii Mote into to control your kart. It took a few races to get used to the controlling etc but after that I was good to go!

I know I’m going to have to put some time into the game to unlock all the tracks and characters but it is going to be a lot of fun. You have the 50cc, 100cc, and 150cc classes. There are different carts with different speed and handling that you can choose. You can also use cycles which are pretty fun!

Another new deal in Mario Kart Wii is that you can plan online against other people. So if you are getting tired of beating your friends and family, go online and see if you have what it takes to beat the best Mario Kart Wii racers in the world!

If you have played the game, what do you think about it? I give it 10/10 as I haven’t found anything that I don’t like!

Mario Party 8 Review for Nintendo Wii

Wow, talk about a wasted game that I thought was actually going to be good on the Nintendo Wii.Â We rented Mario Party 8 last week and were very dissapointed.Â The gameplay sucked and I don’t even see how a kid could enjoy this game to be honest.Â Nintendo has really dropped the ball on the Mario releases for the Wii so far.

I will have a update on Mario & Sonic Olympic Games at the beginning of next week so please check back for that.Â I’m pretty sure it will be better then Mario Party which was a complete dud.Â We are also waiting for our rental store to get in Mario Galaxy so we can check that out before buying.

What do you all think on the Mario releases for the Wii?Â Bad or good?

New Virtual Console games for the Wii

There are four new VC games for the Nintendo Wii today.Â Zelda II which all the Zelda fans have been waiting for is the highlight of this weeks game.Â Â Go buy Zelda II and go back in time and beat it just like on the old NES!

Milon’s Secret Castle (NES, 1 player, 500 Wii Points): Though it’s not much of a secret castle if the title gives it away, it certainly is one that adheres to video game tradition. Expect to rescue a princess and several valuable items — musical instruments in this case — within its recesses.
ToeJam & Earl in Panic on Funkotron (Genesis, 1-2 players, 800 Wii Points): Video game tradition is given the boot here, with amusingly mismatched aliens, Toejam & Earl, saving their planet by ridding it of a human scourge.
Dead Moon (TurboGrafx16, 1 player, 600 Wii Points): Alright, now we’re back to protecting the Earth from alien invasion. It’s why we have side-scrolling shooters like this one.
Zelda II: The Adventure of Link (NES, 1 player, 500 Wii Points): Everyone’s favorite pointy-eared protagonist returns to Hyrule in the Virtual Console’s 100th release. Aid Link in his battle against the forces of evil, Zelda’s newfound narcoleptic tendencies and an endless wave of best Zelda ever / worst Zelda ever controversy.

Nascar 08 Game Trailer released!

Castlevania and two others hit the WII VC on Monday

Three more classic titles have hit the Nintendo Wii Virtual Console on Monday.Â This time it is a game that a lot of people have been waiting for in Castlevania.Â This is the NES version of the game and it will set you back 500 Wii points.

The two other lesser known games are Mystical Ninja and Shockman.Â Mystical Ninja will cost you 800 Wii poins while Shockman will run you 600 Wii Points.

Has anyone purchased these?Â What are your thoughts?

Gradius III, Battle Lode Runner, Wonder Boy on the Virtual Console

Three new games are hitting the Nintendo Wii Virtual Console today.Â Gradius III for 800 points, Battle Lode Runner for 800 points, and Wonder Boy which will run you 600 points.Â I don’t plan on picking up any of these games as I’m still playing Tecmo Bowl and Punch Out.

Punch Out and two other games on the Virtual Console today!

Oh man, here is another one of the all-time best classics on the NES system that has hit the Nintendo Wii Virtual Console!Â Punch Out featuring Mr.Dream is availale for purchase and comes in at 500 Wii Points ($5)Â You cannot go wrong with spending $5 on Punch Out!Â Now, who out there as actually beat this game? It is pretty tough, but now we get another shot at it on the Wii

Two other games are hitting the VC as well.Â Bonks Revenge for 600 Points, and Virtua Fighter 2 (Genesis) for 800 points.

Do you plan on buying any of these new VC games?Â I plan on getting Punch Out tonight when I get home and playing a few rounds!

Wii Zapper gun coming soon?

Â Tired of using the WiiMote for your shooting games? Well soon you will be able to use the new Wii Zapper Gun!Â This is only a prototype picture but I expect the gun to look very similar to this once it is released.Â It will be time to get our Dunk Hunt on, just like in the old days!

Game Stop has listed the Wii Zapper for sale for only $20.Â Not a bad price at all!Â I was expecting more in the $40-$50 range.

Prince of Persia: Rival Swords and Bionicle Heroes

Prince of Persia: Rival Swords and Bionicle Heroes are the two new games hitting the Nintendo Wii this week.Â Nothing huge, but their are some Prince of Persia fans that will enjoy playing the game on the Nintendo Wii.

I won’t be playing or renting these titles, so please let us know if you do and what you think of the games.

StarFox 64 hits the Nintendo Wii Virtual Console

This week, Nintendo finally hooks us up with Star Fox 64, as well as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Dragon’s Curse.Â NotÂ aÂ bad collection of games there.Â Star Fox 64 is a game that plenty of gamers have been waiting for and we all remember playing TMNT on the good ole NES back in the day.

Check out Toys ‘R Us on Sunday for Wii’s!

If you still have been lucky enough to find a Nintendo Wii well then you are going to have a great chance on Sunday to pick one up.Â Get to your Toys ‘R Us store early sunday morning and camp out a few hours if you have to.Â Make sure to grab some extra controllers as they always sell out quickly as well.

GameFly adds distribution center in Pittsburgh

East coast games get your joy on today!Â Great news for all of you with GameFly accounts (click here for your account), GameFly has now opened a new distribution center in Pittsburgh, PA!Â The center will now be able to get games up and down the east coast faster then ever.

Right now GameFly says they will only use the center for selected members so they can work out all the kinks of the new place. Once things get rolling they will go full force and begin adding more members to the center.Â GameFly will be putting out an official release in 1-2 months.

Mario and Sonic teaming up for the Olympics

Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog are teaming up for a video game featuring the Beijing Olympics, Nintendo and Sega said Wednesday.

In the game, due to hit the shelves by year’s end, players will compete in events based on official venues of the 2008 Olympic Games. Other characters in Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games include Nintendo’s Luigi and Yoshi–veterans of the Mario Bros. games–and Sega’s Knuckles and Miles “Tails” Prower.

“Mario and Sonic have been respectful rivals since the early days of video games,” said Shigeru Miyamoto, Nintendo’s famed game maker. “Now that they have been given the perfect opportunity to meet at the Olympic Games, we may finally learn who is actually faster.”

The game is exclusive to Nintendo’s DS handheld and Wii console.

Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter said the game is taking two mass-market characters with global appeal and putting them in a title focused on a global event
