Buy more songs for Guitar Hero 2 on XBOX360

Already mastered all the songs on the new Guitar Hero 2 for XBOX360?  Well you can now purchase three others via XBOX Live.  Granted, the prices are pretty bad for each pack, as they will cost you 500 XBOX points each.  But if you want to keep your game updated and playing new songs I suppose this is about the only way to do it.

  • Pack 1: “Bark at the Moon,” “Hey You,” “Ace of Spades”
  • Pack 2: “Killer Queen,” “Take it Off,” “Frankenstein”
  • Pack 3: “Higher Ground,” “Infected,” “Stellar”
  • Hopefully the next packs that get released won’t cost as much, or alteast include some newer songs in the packs.  Let us know what you think!

XBOX 360 Keyboard Controller Atachment leaked

Pictures and Videos of the rumored XBOX360 Keyboard attachment showed up on the Internet over the Easter weekend and wow, I have to admin I’m pretty impressed.  It is one step closer to having a Keyboard / mouse setup for the XBOX360.  (One reason why I hate FPS games on consoles)

    XBOX360 Keyboard

As you can see in the picture, the keyboard attachment will connect to the XBOX360 controller via the headphone jack allowing a full qwerty keyboard to talk to all your buddies on XBOX Live!

We aren’t 100% certain that this is what it will look like, we are hearing rumors and rumors on other gaming sites saying it is a photoshop and fake, but right now all we know is Microsoft is indeed planning a keyboard attachment that will be released this summer.  For now , we will go along with this one posted here!

    Wii Zapper gun coming soon?

    Wii Zapper

Tired of using the WiiMote for your shooting games? Well soon you will be able to use the new Wii Zapper Gun!  This is only a prototype picture but I expect the gun to look very similar to this once it is released.  It will be time to get our Dunk Hunt on, just like in the old days!

Game Stop has listed the Wii Zapper for sale for only $20.  Not a bad price at all!  I was expecting more in the $40-$50 range.

Get Free T-Mobile Wifi on your PSP

If you were one of the people that chose to upgrade your firmware on your PSP to 3.30, then you now have six months of free T-Mobile Wifi access!  So head to your nearest Starbucks, Borders, FedEx Kinko’s, Hyatt, Red Roof Inns, Sofitel and Novotel Hotels, and select airports.  There are over 3000 total locations that will be offering the free service!

While this is another way for Sony to try to get the homebrew crowd to upgrade their firmware I doubt it will be working for most of them.  They would rather play with the homebrew apps and games rather then free wifi.

Grand Theft Auto IV Trailor Is Here!

Here it is, the trailer that everyone has been waiting for!  Grand Theft AUTO IV is scheduled to be released in October so this trailer is going to have to hold some of you over until then.  Or just keep playing the older GTA games.

What do you all think? I think it could have been better and shown some actual gameplay but it is so early they probably have a lot of things to work on for the gameplay part of the game. I do have to say that the buildings and textures do look pretty badass!

**If the trailer isn’t showing up for you in FireFox, please view it on Gamevideos.Com

Mario and Sonic teaming up for the Olympics

Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog are teaming up for a video game featuring the Beijing Olympics, Nintendo and Sega said Wednesday.

In the game, due to hit the shelves by year’s end, players will compete in events based on official venues of the 2008 Olympic Games. Other characters in Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games include Nintendo’s Luigi and Yoshi–veterans of the Mario Bros. games–and Sega’s Knuckles and Miles “Tails” Prower.

“Mario and Sonic have been respectful rivals since the early days of video games,” said Shigeru Miyamoto, Nintendo’s famed game maker. “Now that they have been given the perfect opportunity to meet at the Olympic Games, we may finally learn who is actually faster.”

The game is exclusive to Nintendo’s DS handheld and Wii console.

Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter said the game is taking two mass-market characters with global appeal and putting them in a title focused on a global event.

“It’s just a great formula,” said Pachter, who added that similar partnerships have resulted in popular games such as Kingdom Hearts from Square Enix and Disney Interactive and Lego Star Wars.

    PSP Firmware 3.30 Upgrade available

Sony has again released a new firmware update for the PSP.  Have any of you already downloaded?   What were your thoughts?

Here’s the list of the improvements for this firmware revision:

    • Support for displaying thumbnails for items has been added under [RSS Channel].
    • Support for PLAYSTATION Network titles has been expanded.
    • The size of videos that can be played under [Video] has been increased.
    • Support for displaying thumbnails for content saved in the “VIDEO” folder of a Memory Stick has been added under [Video].

Update 2: For those without wi-fi access, the update can be downloaded here. Save it on your PSP under this directory: PSP/GAME/UPDATE. IGN is reporting that the video profiles have expanded to include 720×480 (DVD), 352×480, and 480×272 (native PSP) resolutions. However, it does not appear as though they’ve been successful in converting video files either.

XBOX360 Elite coming out for $479

XBOX360 EliteMicrosoft Corp. today announced the upcoming availability of Xbox360 Elite, a new model of the video game and entertainment system that will include a 120GB hard drive, a high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) port, a high-definition cable, and a premium black finish for the console, wireless controller and Xbox LIVE headset. Xbox360 Elite has enough space for a library of Xbox LIVE Arcade games and thousands of songs, as well as downloadable high-definition TV shows and movies available on Xbox LIVE Marketplace. The new 120GB hard drive also will be sold as a stand-alone accessory to give current Xbox360 owners greater choice and flexibility in their games and entertainment experience. Additional Xbox360 Elite accessories, such as the black Xbox 360 Wireless Controller, Xbox 360 Play & Charge kit and the Xbox 360 rechargeable battery, will be available separately. The Xbox360 Elite and its accessories are expected to begin arriving in U.S. stores on April 29.

So for $79 mor then the standard premium XBOX360, you can now pick up the Elite model that will upgrade your 20GB hard drive to a 120GB model, give you HDMI support, and a nice black finish.  For most people they don’t need a 120GB hard drive, or HDMI as most families still don’t have a Hi-Def TV.  Save your $80 and pick up an extra game is my recommendation!

EA working on a Simpsons game?

According to Siliconera, who claim to have seen “various retailer release lists”, Electronic Arts will publish a new Simpsons game called The Simpsons Game, presumably as a tie-in to the movie.  They plan on releasing it on all consoles it sounds like so be ready sometime in November!

Some Simpsons games have been fun, while some have been pretty bad.  I guess it just comes down to who makes the game and how much time and money they put into it.  It’s too bad that 4 publishers have already made Simpsons games in the past and one of them haven’t hit the jackpot yet.
